2024 NJIT Women's Soccer single-game tickets can be purchased on-site only with cash or credit card when our stadium opens up for spectators beginning 60 minutes before kickoff. The main entrance for spectators attending Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium is located at 100 Lock Street, Newark NJ. Youth group ticket pricing is available for youth groups of 15 or more. NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT women's soccer team (2-1-1) will conclude its two-game homestand against Rider (1-2-1) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
The first 200 students in attendance will get free ice cream.
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT has won two straight matches, defeating Mount St. Mary's 1-0 on August 25 and Saint Peter's 2-0 on August 29. The Highlanders have recorded three straight shutouts, including a 0-0 draw against Marist on August 22. Over the last three games, NJIT outshot its opponents 51-19.
Caroline Caputo scored two goals against Saint Peter's, marking her first career multi-goal game. Her first goal came in the 53rd minute with assists from
Mikayla Balio and
Emily Jozak. Balio and Jozak have recorded points in two consecutive games. Caputo scored her second goal in the 62nd minute from just outside the box, assisted by
Ciara Adams.
Briana Andreoli was selected to the 2024 America East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference team after leading the team with six goals and three assists for a team-high 15 points in 2023.
Goalkeeper
Samantha Constantine made a crucial penalty kick save in the 86th minute against Saint Peter's to preserve the shutout for the Highlanders.
Mojisola Ayodele has ten saves and only allowed one goal on 39 shots faced in three games this season.
Maria Nogueira and
Taylor Pape anchor the strong Highlander defense, playing all 90 minutes in the first four matches. NJIT has blocked 15 shots, including ten against top-50 Rutgers.
SCOUTING RIDER
Rider enters the contest with a 1-2-1 record, falling to Saint Joseph's 2-0 on August 29. Their lone win came against Delaware State, with a 5-0 victory on August 21.
Tess Ferrie earned MAAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors after recording a hat trick against Delaware State. Goalkeeper Ellie Sciancalepore made 20 saves in four games this season.
Rider leads the all-time series 7-5, including a 2-1 win in the last meeting on September 8, 2021.
