Track and Field Performs Well At Princeton's Larry Ellis Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. — The NJIT track and field teams took their talents to Central Jersey this weekend, participating in the Princeton University Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • The top showings from the two NJIT teams came from Jordan Lindinger-Asamoah, Jacob Leigh, Hayley Lucido, and Sanai Jenkins
  • Lindinger-Asamoah earned NJIT's lone victory at the meet, winning the Triple Jump with a leap of 14.25m / 46-9.00 for his first career outdoor win.
  • Leigh took third in the 200 meters with a time of 21.14, which currently sits as the top time in the America East and improved on his own school record of 21.36 he reset two weeks ago. He also ran seventh in the 100 meters (10.96).
  • Lucido was a part of two top-six efforts on the women's side - a fourth-place run in the 800 meters (2:13.39) that replaced former Highlander Stuti Vyas' 2022 mark of 2:17.27; and a sixth-place 4x400 relay alongside Grace Burke, Sanai Jenkins, and Maddie Stevens (3:55.11).
  • Jenkins added a sixth-place finish in the 400 hurdles (1:04.59) that reset her own school record of 1:04.94 from 2023.
