NEW YORK, N.Y. - Freshmen
Zaidah Lightener and
Pietro Carpentari set school records at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
Lightener broke a program record for the second consecutive meet, posting a college-best triple jump of 11.74m to finish third. Carpentari set the school record for the 600m, running a personal-best time of 1:21.31 to also finish third.
The Highlanders continued their momentum from the season opener, recording 12 personal-bests and nine top-five marks in school history.
James Estafanous achieved a personal-best 600m time of 1:22.36, which ranks fourth in program history.
Noah Chatman recorded a personal-best 600m time of 1:23.18, which is the fifth-best in school history.
Sanai Jenkins posted a personal-best 600m time of 1:38.53 for the second straight meet. Her time is the third-best in program history.
Kierstin Ashby (40.90) and
Nia Holloway (40.92) clocked personal-best 300m times for the second consecutive meet, ranking second and third in school history, respectively.
NEXT UP
The Highlanders will return to the Ocean Breeze Complex to compete in the Gotham Cup on Jan. 17.
