NJIT Women’s Soccer Plays Last Road Game Of The Season Against First-Place Maine

ORONO, Maine - The NJIT women's soccer team (3-10-2, 0-5-1 AE) plays its final road game of the season against first-place Maine (10-1-2, 6-0 AE) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Mahaney Diamond.
 
NJIT aims to bounce back after losing to UMass Lowell 2-0 on October 20. The Highlanders earned a point in America East play with a 1-1 draw against Binghamton on October 17. NJIT recorded four consecutive shutouts with wins against Mount St. Mary's, Saint Peter's, and Rider from August 22 to September 1.
 
Kelsey Ramos scored her third goal of the season in the 57th minute against Binghamton, assisted by Caroline Caputo. Ramos has 19 career points, ranking ninth in the Division I era. She is second on the team with seven points this season.
 
Briana Andreoli scored her 12th goal of her NJIT career in the 32nd minute against UAlbany, tying her for second all-time in the Division I era. She also tied for fourth all-time in points (29) with Kori Washington during that same period. The Hawthrone, New Jersey native was selected to the 2024 America East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference team after leading the team with six goals and three assists for a team-high 15 points in 2023. She has three goals and two assists this season.
 
Goalkeeper Samantha Constantine posted a season-high eight saves against Binghamton.
 
Kennedy Westbrook earned America East Rookie of the Week honors on September 23 after recording the first three points of her collegiate career, including one goal and one assist against Bryant. Sofia Mignon also scored her first collegiate goal in the 89th minute of that match.
 
Ciara Adams is tied for third on the team with six points this season with two goals and two assists. She earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week on September 3 after scoring all six points against Saint Peter's and Rider.
 
Caputo also scored two goals this season, netting both against Saint Peter's for her first multi-goal game.
 
Maria Nogueira and Westbrook have each played all 90 minutes in 14 matches played this season. NJIT has blocked 47 shots, including ten against top-50 Rutgers.
 
SCOUTING MAINE
Maine enters the contest with a 10-1-2 record, securing a 1-0 victory against UAlbany on October 20. The Black Bears are in first place in the America East and clinched a spot into the conference tournament. Maine ranks No. 24 in the Top Drawer Soccer College National Rankings.
 
Abby Kraemer leads the team with 14 points (five goals, four assists) this season, ranking fourth in the America East. Jordan Pinette (12 points) and Kristina Kelly (10 points) also have double-digit points for the Black Bears. Goalkeeper Jessica Kasacek allows only 0.83 goals per game, ranking second in the America East.
 
Maine leads the all-time series 2-1-2, winning the last matchup 2-0 on October 8, 2023.
