Jordan Lindinger-Asamoah Named America East Field Performer Of The Week Honor For Third Time

1/23/2024 12:31:00 PM

NEWARK, N.J. —  NJIT track and field freshman Jordan Lindinger-Asamoah has earned America East Male Field Performer of the Week honors for the third consecutive week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.

The native of Vienna, Austria reset his own NJIT school record in the triple jump at last weekend's Villanova Invitational (January 20) with a leap of 15.39m / 50-6.00. The mark helped Lindinger-Asamoah finish second at the meet, kept him second overall in the America East, secured his third top two finish in the event (two 2nd place, one win) in three college meets, and currently places him in the top-40 nationally (T-36th).

Lindinger-Asamoah is now the first Highlander track and field or cross country athlete to have earned three weekly honors from the league in their career, just three weeks into his collegiate tenure.

This week's America East weekly award brings NJIT's all-time Track and Field tally to seven and its combined total across Cross Country & Track and Field to ten.

Lindinger-Asamoah and NJIT will return to competition this weekend (January 26-27) in Boston as the Highlanders split their squads to participate in the UMass Lowell Invite and Boston University Terrier Classic.
