NEWARK, NJ–Senior Kenna Squier has been named America East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

In a 2-0 week for the Highlanders, Squier nearly averaged a double-double, combining for 18.0ppg, 9.0rpg and shooting an impressive 68.4% from the field (13-for-19).

Squier recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in the Highlanders road win at New Hampshire on February 1 to sweep the regular season series from the Wildcats.

On Saturday, Squier registered her third career double-double, netting a game-best 22 points (two shy her career-high), 10 rebounds (one-shy her personal-best mark) and shot 7-for-10 from the field in NJIT's 68-50 home victory over UMass Lowell.

Squier, an America East Conference third-team selection a year ago, picked up her first Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.

NJIT will look to even the season series with UMBC on February 8 at 7pm inside the Wellness and Events Center.  UMBC sank a three-pointer with :04 left in regulation to earn a 61-60 victory over visiting NJIT on January 25 in Baltimore, MD.
