Vito Takes Silver In Javelin As Track Begins Mets Outdoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The NJIT men's and women's track and field teams competed in the first day of the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships on Friday evening at Icahn Stadium. NJIT sent their throwers to open up the Championships on Friday after the first set of events, the Highlander women are tied for fifth place overall with eight total points while the NJIT men will enter Saturday's action looking to break through on the scoreboard.

SCORING PERFORMANCES

Daniella Vito continued her strong outdoor debut season with a silver medal in the Javelin (8 points), logging a toss of 39.50m / 129-7.00 that was less than a meter away from the school record she set in her first meet at Monmouth two weeks ago.

Erin Foody: 12th in Pole Vault - 2.45m / 8-0.50
Jaden Dixon: 13th in Hammer Throw - 37.29m / 122-4.00
