NEWARK, N.J. — The NJIT women's tennis team has earned the No. 4 seed in this weekend's Southland Conference Tournament, the league announced Monday afternoon.

The Highlanders will open the Southland tourney against No. 5 Nicholls State on Friday, April 22 at 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET. The winner will face the winner of No. 1 Northwest State and No. 8 Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday. April 23 at 10 a.m. for the right to advance to the championship match on Sunday, April 24 at 10 a.m.

NJIT will be competing in its first conference tournament since the 2019 ASUN Quarterfinals, will be looking for its first league tourney victory since the 2017 ASUN Quarters, and will attempt to win its first conference crown since repeating as Great West champions in 2012.
