Women's Tennis Shuts Out Hofstra In Regular Season Finale

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The NJIT women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 7-0 road shutout against the Hofstra Pride Friday afternoon at the Hofstra Tennis Courts

The victory improved the Highlanders' record to 10-7, giving NJIT its first season with double-digit wins since 2018-19 (13-9). The win was also NJIT's fourth shutout fo the spring, matching the team's output in the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 campaign.

NJIT clinched the doubles point with easy wins at Nos. 2 and 3 and swept singles for the second time in three matches with three flights producing at least one set shutout.

The dominating performance will set the tone for the Highlanders as they embark on their first Southland Conference Tournament, which is scheduled for April 22-24 at the University Tennis Center in New Orleans.
