NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's volleyball team will hit the road this weekend and visit George Mason on Friday, March 25 and Princeton on Saturday, March 26 in EIVA Conference men's volleyball action.

AVCA Division I-II Top 15 Coaches Poll
The NJIT men's volleyball team has been ranked No. 15 in the AVCA Division I-II Top 15 Coaches poll for the last three weeks.
NJIT started out the Preseason ranked No. 15 (December 20, 2021), received votes (10) on Feb. 28 and rejoined the top 15 poll after combining for 22 total points on March 7.

Meissner led NJIT to a pair of league wins against Charleston last weekend.
In the Saturday match, he had a career-high 31 kills, which is the second-highest total in D I-II this season and the best mark for an NJIT player since 2007. He combined for 14 kills and hit .385 in the Friday sweep. His 3.61 kills per set led the EIVA this week.
Martin de Chavarria was named EIVA Defensive Player of the Week. De Chavarria, ranks fourth in the nation in blocks per set, averaging 1.50bps (12 total blocks) and 2.38kps while combining for a .563 hitting percentage.
NCAA Team Statistical Rankings
NJIT leads the EIVA and ranks fourth nationally averaging 2.60 blocks per set. The Highlanders have posted 10-plus blocks in their last six matches.

Scouting George Mason
George Mason enters the weekend with an 8-11 overall mark, 3-6 in the conference, most recently dropping a 3-0 decision to #2 Penn State on March 20. Freshman Lucas Little led the offensive momentum for the Patriots, tallying a hitting percentage of .600 (three kills on five attempts).
Omar Hoyos paces the Patriots with 3.20kps followed by Jack Bolz at 3.18kps. Hoyos leads George Mason with 1.87dps while Little has combined for 64 total blocks (1.12bps).
Scouting Princeton
Princeton (6-12, 5-6 EIVA) are coming off a 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-15) home sweep.
Sophomore James Hartley had a sensational evening, leading the match in kills with 15 on a .737 hitting percentage. Senior Joe Kelly had a match-high 36 assists, and senior Jerod Nelsen led the match in digs with eight. Sophomore Ben Harrington added a match-high two blocks.
Harrington leads the Tigers in kills per set with 3.13 and service aces per set with 0.57, while Kelly's 7.33 assists per set are a team-high. Defensively, junior Nico Posivak's 1.48 digs per set lead the team, as do first year Nyherowo Omene's 37 blocks.
