More School Records Fall For Track and Field After Great Dane Classic

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NJIT men's and women's track and field teams returned to Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility to take part in fellow America East member UAlbany's annual Great Dane Classic Friday evening.

TOP PERFORMANCES

Highlanders set or matched four different school records on Friday: Stuti Vyas in the 1000 Meters (3:04.63+); Sydne Nance, Nadia Zhecheva, McKinleigh Mattie, and Stuti Vyas in the Women's 4x400 Relay (4:02.12), Sydne Nance in the 200 Meters (25.54, matching her record from last week), and Matt Bacchi, Eugene Graves III, Thomas Van Saders, and Jacob Leigh in the Men's 4x400 Relay (3:17.83, 3rd at meet*). In addition, freshman Jadyn Otto set a new school freshman record in the 60 Hurdles with a time of 9.72.

Leigh currently holds the third-best 200 Meter time in the America East and he, Bacchi, Graves III and Van Saders have moved into the conference's top spot in the 4x400 Relay.
Holloway's 60 Hurdles time is tied for No. 2 all-time in school history and only .03 seconds away from the school record
Zhecheva's 500 Meters time is now No. 3 all-time in school history.
