NEWARK, N.J. --- The NJIT men's swimming and diving team held its lone home meet of the season on Sunday afternoon, welcoming the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays to the Wellness and Events Center Natatorium.
The Highlanders were defeated by the Blue Jays, 178-112.
Prior to the meet, NJIT honored its four graduating seniors -
Alex Bjelis,
Mattheau Bonner,
Jake Donofrio, and
Nicholas Lyons - for their contributions to the program.
TOP PERFORMANCES
Junior
Joshua Franco led the Highlanders with a pair of wins against Hopkins swimmers, finishing first in the 50 Free (21.30) and 100 Free (45.84). Franco was also on the second place 400 Medley Relay team (3:23.76) and placed third in the 500 Free (4:46.88).
Freshman
Aiden Ban also picked up a pair of wins in all-Highlander diving events (299..80 in 1 meter; 292.05 in 3 meter) that also reset NJIT's diving records in both specialties.
