CSCAA Official Release

NEWARK, NJ–Freshman Yonatan Ahdut was selected to the 2026 CSCAA Second Team Academic All-American team the organization announced on Thursday. 

A standout distance freestyle swimmer, Ahdut became the second Highlander in program history to be named to the Academic All-American team joining Ian Horstkamp Vinkar.

He established an America East Conference record in the 1650 freestyle (15:29.98) during the 2026 season and qualified for the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, where he captured bronze medals in both the 1650 freestyle (15:17.79) and 1000 freestyle (9:14.16), while also placing among the top nine in the 500 freestyle. 

Ahdut claimed the ECAC Championship in the 1650 freestyle and earned a silver medal in the 500 freestyle at the America East Championships. 

During the 2025 ECAC Winter Championships, Ahdut won silver in the 1650 freestyle and bronze in the 500 freestyle. 

Throughout the 2025-26 campaign, Ahdut consistently ranked among the conference's top distance swimmers, highlighted by an America East title and conference-record performance in the 1650 freestyle, a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle (4:26.57), and multiple podium finishes at both the conference and national invitational levels.
