NCAA Official Release

NEWARK, NJ –
NJIT men's swimming and diving senior Zac Kuzak has been named one of 42 winter recipients of the 2025-26 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, recognizing excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.

A native of Kirkland, Quebec, Kuzak will graduate in May with a degree in financial technology. He boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA and has earned Dean's List honors seven times. Kuzak is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection (2025, 2026) and was named to the America East All-Academic Team this season.

A two-time team captain, Kuzak played a key role in NJIT's runner-up finish at the 2025 ECAC Championships, where the Highlanders totaled 18 finals appearances.

Outside the pool, Kuzak has been a strong voice for student-athletes, serving as one of NJIT's two representatives to the America East Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In the Martin Tuchman School of Management, he has excelled academically and professionally, working as a data analyst at RBC Wealth Management for the past two summers. He also mentors nearly 25 undergraduate business students and was selected to help instruct the school's new AI bootcamp for incoming freshmen.

The NCAA awarded $10,000 scholarships to 42 student-athletes across winter sports who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, athletic performance, and community leadership.

Annually, the NCAA distributes 126 postgraduate scholarships—21 per gender in the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The one-time, nonrenewable award supports graduate study at an accredited institution.

Established in 1964, the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program promotes and encourages graduate education by recognizing the Association's most accomplished student-athletes. The program evaluates candidates on their athletic and academic achievements, campus involvement, community service and leadership. An equitable selection process ensures that all nominees, regardless of sport, division, gender or race, are considered fairly.
