WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Monmouth Hawks hosted the NJIT Highlanders at the Jersey Shore Arena Friday night in the first of three scheduled games this year. The game was close throughout.  Rohan Ganta opened the scoring for the Highlanders, but the Hawks tied it up in the first period.  The teams traded goals again in the second period, with Ted Lee scoring the 1^st of his three goals and it was 2-2 going into the 3^rd period.

The third period was more of the same as once again as newcomer Sal Micciche scored to reestablish the lead for the Hjghlanders.  NJIT guarded the lead fiercely, killing a penalty and clearing the puck time and time again, before Matt Francescutto knocked home a Ted Lee rebound for an insurance goal and a 4-2 lead.  Ted Lee completed his hat trick with an empty net goal with  15 seconds to go.  Rohan Ganta was particularly strong clearing the puck numerous times in the 3^rd period on his own.
