12/7/2025 10:00:00 PM

NEWARK, NJ - The Highlanders were looking to end the Fall 2025 portion of the schedule on a high point before the holidays. They did just that in the most dramatic way possible, a 4-3 comeback win in overtime after trailing 3-0 to the Yeshiva Maccabees. NJIT's overall record in the ACHA is now 6-6-1.

Their MCHC record is 3-4-1 and they are now in 3rd place in the conference (Top 4 get into the playoffs).

The only goal in the 1st period was scored by the Maccabees on the power play and they kept that lead after the stanza.

The Highlanders played better in the 2nd, but were unable to break the tie. Yeshiva got two goals early in the 3rd to get a commanding three-goal lead, but NJIT mounted their comeback from that point forward. Brandon Clayton got his 11th goal of the season with Sal Micciche and Noah Bergen getting the helpers. Bergen would cut the deficit to 3-2 on shot after cutting to the slot from the left wing with 5:46 remaining. Ian Etienne would get the lone assist.

The tying goal would come when Owen John deflected an Anton Martino point shot on the power play with 2:01 left. The game would go to overtime after 60 minutes of play.

The period would start with Yeshiva with a 4-on-3 man advantage that the Highlanders would kill off. Etienne would get the winner off a shot with the right circle for his 3rd goal of the season with 1:54 remaining. John Pinkham and Martino with the assists. NJIT is now 2-0 in overtime games (0-1 in the shootout). Elliot Marken made 30 saves for the win.
