NEWARK, N.J. --- Two members of the NJIT track and field program have earned ASUN Conference Indoor All-Academic honors, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
Senior
Sarah Morgan and junior
Brian McGlew were named to their respective women's and men's All-Academic teams.
Morgan, a Biology major with a 3.87 cumulative GPA, was named to the All-Academic team for the first time in her career. She currently holds school records in three relays (4x400, 4x800, DMR) and helped the Highlanders place fourth overall in the DMR at this year's ASUN Indoor Championships.
McGlew, a Civil Engineering major with a 3.95 GPA, is also a first-time All-Academic selection. McGlew's GPA is the third-highest on the Team and his finishes in the 3000 meters at the Metropolitan and ASUN Championships were NJIT's best.
All student-athletes named to the ASUN All-Academic team had to meet the following requirements:
- minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)
- have completed four (4) semesters of college coursework OR 50% of progress towards degree
- have participated in a minimum of 50 percent of the team's contests in the year of nomination
- have one year of residence at the institution (graduate transfers excluded).
