JACKSONVILLE --- Graduate student Alex Ortega completed his time at the NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary meet Thursday evening at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Running in the second heat of the 400 meter hurdles, Ortega ran a time of 53.32 to place 43rd overall. The time was Ortega's third-fastest of the season, after his ASUN-winning mark of 52.16 and the 53.10 he ran at the 125th Penn Relays.
