NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's basketball team will wrap up the 2019 non-conference slate on Monday night when the Highlanders visit Binghamton. Tip-off is slated for 7pm on ESPN+.

All-Time Series
Binghamton leads the all-time series, 3-1, having taken the past three meetings. Most recently, the Bearcats won 67-36 in Newark on Dec. 10, 2017. A win against the Bearcats would give NJIT its first win in the State of New York this season while marking the third win for the ASUN in its fourth match-up against the America East schools this year.
Last Time Out
Hot-shooting Columbia had four players in double-figures and shot 59.2 percent from the field and 54.2 percent from three-point range led by a game-high 18 points from Abbey Hsu en route to a 99-43 victory Saturday afternoon in women's basketball non-conference action at Levien Gymnasium.
For NJIT, sophomore guard Samantha Schultz netted a career-best nine points, shooting 2-for-4 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line, coming off the bench.
Forward Danielle Tunstall and guard Maddie Martin each added eight points for the Highlanders. Freshman Kenna Squier chipped in seven points, grabbed five rebounds and five assists.
Scouting the Highlanders
Senior forward Danielle Tunstall is ranked third in the conference in rebounds with an 8.8rpg while also leading the team in scoring at 12.8ppg and blocks at 1.8bpg. Freshman Kenna Squier is second on the team in scoring at 9.8ppg and is second among ASUN freshmen.
Redshirt freshman Maddie Martin is leading the Highlanders in field goal percentage, shooting 48.3 (28-for-58) with Squier shooting 47.1 from the field (41-for-87).
Scouting Binghamton
After opening the season with nine straight wins, Binghamton enters Monday's contest with a 10-2 overall record.
The Bearcats defeated Grambling State 88-67 on December 20 at the FIU Holiday Hoops Showdown. Senior guard Kai Moon finished with 23 points followed by junior forward Kaylee Wasco with 16 points. Sophomore forward Annie Ramil, meanwhile, turned in a 15-point, 11-rebound performance. Moon was named to the FIU Holiday Hoops All-Tournament Team.
Moon continues to lead the America East and ranks No. 12 in the nation with 20.9 points per game. Senior guard Carly Boland is averaging 11.3 ppg and Ramil is dishing out 7.4 assists per game.
Next Up
The New Year brings the start of ASUN Conference play, which lands the Highlanders at home, hosting Liberty on January 4. NJIT will play their final 15 games in the ASUN.
