Scouting the Highlanders
The Highlanders picked up its third straight win over UMass Lowell Friday afternoon, improving to 3-1-1 on the young season.  Through five matches, this is the best start for NJIT since 2016 when the Highlanders went 4-0-1.

After opening the season with a 1-0 loss at Monmouth and a scoreless draw with LIU Brooklyn, NJIT defeated Iona, 1-0, Fairfield, 4-1, and UMass Lowell, 1-0.

Freshman Fiona Wright leads NJIT with three goals, while Jennifer Callaghan has a pair of goals. Sophomore transfer Tara Walenczyk has also scored once and sophomore Katrina Nguyen-DeMary has a team-high three assists.

Graduate student goalkeeper Amelia Sapirman has combined for a 0.38 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.

Scouting the Broncs
The Broncs stand at 2-0-1, marking the first time since 2012 that they've started the season undefeated through three games.  All three of the Broncs' games so far this season have gone to overtime.

Graduate student Emily Curteis scored the equalizer in the 90th minute and senior Sam Picinich added the game-winning goal from beyond the midfield stripe in overtime as the Rider University women's soccer team stunned Fairleigh Dickinson, 2-1.

Kourtney Cunningham and Sam Picinich pace the Broncs with two goals and one assist, good for five points.

The Broncs return seven players who started at least 11 games last season.  Valeria Pascuet was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team after consecutive all-league selections.
