The NJIT women's soccer team will play two matches in three days, first hosting Iona on August 24 and Fairfield on August 26 at Kean University East Campus Facility. Both matches are slated for a 1pm kickoff.
With construction underway on-campus for the new Soccer Stadium, the Highlanders home field will be in Hillside, NJ, on the campus of Kean University – East Campus Facility until construction of the soccer stadium is completed. Click

Scouting NJIT
NJIT has allowed just four shots on goal thus far with
Amelia Sapirman claiming a home-opening shutout against LIU Brooklyn last Sunday.
The Highlanders welcome in Iona on Friday in their second all-time meeting. NJIT won the last meeting in 2016, as
Emily Heckman scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute lifting NJIT to a 2-1 victory over the Gaels.
Another second meeting happens when Fairfield comes to town with NJIT again holding a 1-0 advantage.
Noelle Batista's goal in the 80th minute proved the winner for NJIT, who defeated Fairfield, 3-2, last season.

Scouting Iona
Iona enters Friday's match with a 1-1 mark, after a season-opening victory over Sacred Heart, 3-2. Most recently, the Gaels dropped a 1-0 decision at Army on Tuesday.
Freshman Faith Preziosi claimed the first MAAC Rookie of the Week accolade with a strong collegiate debut against Sacred Heart. Preziosi, who was one of four rookies to start in Iona's season-opener, scored the game-winning goal in the '53 off an assist from junior transfer midfielder Ciara Guglielmo.

Sarah Brady begins her third season with a veteran midfield returning in addition to 12 newcomers.
MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Gaels were selected to finish 10
th out of 11 teams in the 2018 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The defending MAAC regular season and tournament champions Monmouth are the unanimous preseason favorite.
Scouting Fairfield
The Stags posted a pair of 1-0 victories to begin the 2018 season with wins over LIU Brooklyn and Hofstra. Fairfield will host Wagner on Friday night in the teams' home opener at Lessing Field.
Fairfield will have a chance to match the best start in program history as they will be searching for their third-straight win to begin the season. Fairfield has started a season 3-0 five times in their history, with the most recent coming in 2010.
The 2018 season is also the first one under Head Coach
David Barrett who coached 17 years and won 234 games at Illinois Wesleyan. Barrett was awarded the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Coach of the Year award five times and reached the NCAA ten times.
The Fairfield rookies have put the Stags in this position as they led the Stags to a pair of 1-0 victories. Freshmen Amy Akerley and Hanley Courter both tallied their first game-winning tallies of their collegiate careers and rookie goalkeeper Aytana Muschajew made both slim margins hold up by recording 14 saves and two clean sheets during her first weekend. For her efforts, she was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week.
MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Stags were picked to finish sixth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Poll with sophomore forward Alex Madden earning a spot on the conference's preseason team. Madden was the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year after netting a team-high seven goals during her freshman campaign.
