NEWARK, NJ--The NJIT women's soccer match at Monmouth scheduled for Friday, August 17 at 7pm has been moved up to a 5pm kickoff due to potential thunderstorms in Monmouth County.

NJIT is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw the Highlanders set program records for wins in a season (9), shutouts (7) and finishing above .500 (9-8 overall).

Monmouth, the five-time defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season champions and two-time defending MAAC Tournament champions, were voted to claim the top spot in the conference for the 2018 season.

In addition, redshirt junior forward Madie Gibson was voted the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, while Alli DeLuca, Amanda Knaub, Anna Lazur and Lexie Palladino joined her on the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
