NEWARK, NJ— Visiting Stetson topped NJIT, 9-1, in ASUN Conference action Friday evening at Riverfront Stadium.
The Hatters improve to 29-10 overall, 5-2 in the ASUN, and also on a four-game ASUN streak. NJIT moves to 15-15 overall on the year and stand at 3-7 in the ASUN, after earning one win in each of their first three ASUN series.
The 15 victories for NJIT is more than the Highlanders posted in 2017 season and the three ASUN victories is the most the program has recorded in its third season in the league.
Hatters RHP Logan Gilbert posted his seventh win of the season, moving to 7-1, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing three hits, one run and striking out 14 Highlander batters. Reliever Chris Gonzalez pitched a scoreless ninth, giving up one hit.
Stetson produced 10 hits in the game, led by 1B Eric Foggo, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, including his third home run of the season and first triple.
CF Jacob Koos went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, including a solo home run in the top of the first, his third of the season.

Jared Kacso took the loss, falling to 2-4 on the season, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing six hits, five runs (three earned) and fanning two Stetson batters.
Brett Lubreski, the Highlanders second pitcher, went 2.0 innings, letting up two hits and one run while
Chris Gibbons pitched a scoreless ninth inning, fanning two batters.
Stetson took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a solo home run by Koos, his third of the season.
The Hatters added three runs on three hits and one Highlander error in the top of the second for a 4-0 advantage.
NJIT got on the board in the bottom of the fifth after a two-out triple by DH
Matthew Cocciadiferro and an RBI single to right by
Julio Marcano for a 5-1 score.
Stetson plated a single run in the top of the seventh and added three in the eighth, securing the 9-1 Hatter victory.
The two teams will return to action for a 1pm single game Saturday at Riverfront Stadium.
