NEWARK, NJ— NJIT baseball lost a close 2-1 to Stetson in ASUN Conference action Saturday afternoon at Riverfront Stadium.
After six scoreless innings, the Hatters scored the first run of the game on a bases loaded walk to RF Mike Spooner and added its second run on a fielder's choice RBI by Jacob Koos, scoring Bogert, who reached on a single through the right side for 2-0 lead.
The Highlanders tried for a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, with an RBI double by LF

Julio Marcano went 3-for-4 on the day, including a double, while RF
Matthew Cocciadiferro and C
Paul Franzoni each went 2-for-4.
Jack Perkins picked up the win for Stetson, going 6.1 innings with nine strikeouts.
For NJIT Sean Lubreksi went six innings giving up only two runs and striking three Hatters out.
NJIT and Stetson will conclude the three-game ASUN series on Sunday at Riverfront Stadium. First pitch set for 12pm.
