2018 ASUN Men's Tennis Bracket
NEWARK, NJ--NJIT, the number six-seed in the 2018 ASUN Conference Men's Tennis Tournament will open postseason play against third-seeded FGCU, hosted by University of North Florida on Friday, April 20 at 11:30am, held at UNF Tennis Complex.
This marks the first appearance for the Highlanders in postseason, since joining the ASUN Conference in 2015-16.

"Our hard work and dedication paid off and everything fell into place -- the seasoned leadership of our seniors Jan (Cimrman) and Richard (Rangga), the great addition to the team of Tomi (Antoljak) and Abdallah (Fouad), and the veteran experience of Zac (Castagna) and Lukas (Zvikas), along with the hard work and support of our bench players. We're looking forward to making our run for the ASUN Championship."
The action begins with No. 4 Lipscomb (3-3 ASUN, 8-11 overall) vs. No. 5 Kennesaw State (2-4 ASUN, 8-10) at 9am followed by No. 3 FGCU (3-3, 8-11 overall) vs. No. 6 NJIT (1-5 ASUN, 9-10 overall).

Host North Florida (6-0 ASUN, 11-9 overall), the No. 1 seed in the tournament, will play the winner of No. Lipscomb/No. 5 Kennesaw State on Saturday, April 21 at 9am. Stetson (5-1 ASUN, 17-3 overall), the No. 2 seed, will play the winner of No. 3 FGCU/No. 6 NJIT at 11:30am.
The ASUN Men's Tennis Championship finals will be played on Sunday, April 22 at 10am. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Lipscomb won the regular season match against NJIT, nipping the Highlanders 4-3, in Nashville on April 13.
The Highlanders are led senior co-captain
Richard Rangga, who posted a team-best 13 victories. Rangga combed for a 13-6 overall record while going 3-3 in ASUN action with wins over Lipscomb, Kennesaw State and Stetson.
Rangga recorded an 11-3 mark at sixth singles, 1-0 at fourth and 1-3 at the fifth spot and opened up the 2018 season with seven straight wins in singles action. He recorded a pair of wins in the final weekend over Kennesaw State and Lipscomb in singles and doubles action.
In doubles play with teammate
Lukas Zvikas, the duo notched a 7-9 mark (all at the second spot) and went 1-3 in ASUN action.
Zac Castagna, combined for 10 wins this season, going 3-3 in ASUN action with wins over Stetson, UNF and Upstate. He went 9-5 at fifth singles and won a stretch of four straight in singles action (March 20-March 31). In doubles action, Castagna notched a 4-4 mark with teammate
Tomi Antoljak, combining for a 2-1 mark in the ASUN.
Freshman
Abdullah Fouad, who joined the Highlanders in January, posted 10 wins and in his first season at NJIT. He combined for a 6-5 mark at fourth singles, 3-4 at the third spot and 1-0 at second singles.
Lukas Zvikas recorded eight wins this season while going 3-3 in ASUN action with wins over USC Upstate, Stetson and Lipscomb. He recorded an 8-3 record at third singles and in doubles play with teammate Rangga, the duo notched a 7-9 mark (at the second spot) and went 1-3 in ASUN action.
Newcomer
Tomi Antoljak went 6-9 overall at first singles while notching a 2-4 mark in ASUN with wins over Upstate and UNF. He posted a 4-4 mark in doubles action with teammate Castagna while combining for a 2-1 mark in the ASUN with a pair of wins over Lipscomb and Upstate.
