Tommy Derer posted his second save of the season in the Highlanders' 6-4 mid-week win at Saint Peter's Wednesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Jaroschak Field.

Derer kept the Peacocks (0-28) scoreless in the bottom of the ninth, allowing one hit and securing the 6-4 victory.
NJIT, which used seven pitchers in the game, held the home team scoreless in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings. Rappaport, the fifth pitcher for the Highlanders, pitched a scoreless and hitless sixth and seventh, notching his first collegiate win.

Saint Peter's starting pitcher Willie Krajnik was credited in a no-decision, pitching 7.0 innings, letting up seven hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out 11 Highlander batters. Peacocks second pitcher, Aditya Chandel took the loss, pitching one inning (the eighth) allowing one hit and one run.
NJIT will return to ASUN Conference action, hosting Stetson on Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 1pm and wrapping up the three-game series on Sunday at 12pm. All games will be played at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, NJ.
