NASHVILLE, TN—Lipscomb rallied back down 6-4 in the bottom of the eighth, scoring six runs, including Chris Bashlor's go-ahead three-run home run as the Bison held on for a 10-6 win Friday evening in ASUN Conference baseball action at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium.
With the win, Lipscomb stands at 12-14 overall, 1-1 in the ASUN while the Highlanders, who won three straight, moves to 11-9 overall, 1-1 in the ASUN with one game remaining against the Bison. The two teams will conclude the three-game series on Sunday at 11am (CT) | 12pm (ET).
NJIT struck first scoring a pair of runs in the first inning but Lipscomb answered with four in the bottom of the second for a 4-1 lead. The visitors added a single run in the third and three in the fifth, jumping ahead 6-4, before the Bison poured in six runs in the bottom of the eighth, taking a 10-6 lead.
Bashlor, the Bisons designated hitter finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs while SS Blake Thomas, LF Tevin Symonette finished 2-for-4 and CF Madduc Houghton went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored.
Alex Dorso, the second pitcher for the Bison was credited with the win, pitching three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.

Jesse Uttendorfer went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored, including his 200
th career hit, which came in the top of the third. Freshman 3B
David Marcano finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, including his first collegiate home run in the fifth. SS
Justin Etts finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
The Highlanders starting pitcher Sean Lubrekski pitched the first seven innings of the game, taking a no-decision, letting up six hits, four runs (two earned) and striking out four Bison batters. Freshman
Jake Rappaport, NJIT's third pitcher, was credited with the loss.
NJIT got on the scoreboard first with a pair of runs in the top of the first on a double to center field, scoring SS

Michael Anastasia for a 2-0 lead.
Lipscomb answered in the bottom of the second with four runs, taking a 4-2 lead. The Bisons scored its first run with a bases loaded passed ball and added a two runs on a two RBI single up the middle by Maddux Houghton, taking its first lead of the game, 3-2. 3B Zeke Dodson drove in the fourth run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Uttendorfer continued his hot streak with an RBI single to right field, scoring Etts, cutting the Highlanders deficit to 4-3. With the single to center, Uttendorfer registered his 200
th career hit as a Highlander.
NJIT added to its lead in the top of the fifth after a three-run home run by
Julio Marcano, his first collegiate homer of the season, extending the Highlander lead to 6-4.
Lipscomb recorded six runs and four hits, including a three-run homer by Bashlor for an 8-4 advantage in the bottom of the eighth. The Bison scored two more runs in the inning on an RBI single up the middle by Blake Thomas and a Highlander throwing error.
