NASHVILLE, TN—After six scoreless innings of action, Lipscomb scored two runs in the seventh and five in the eighth for a 7-0 victory behind RHP Chris Kachmar's complete game shutout for the Bison Saturday in ASUN Conference action at Dugan Field.
Lipscomb improves to 13-14 on the season, 2-1 in the ASUN while the Highlanders drop to 11-10 on the season and 1-2 in the ASUN.
NJIT and Lipscomb were scoreless through the first six innings before Lipscomb was able to break through in the bottom of the seventh.
Lipscomb's Maddux Houghton hit a two-run homer run to give the Bison a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh and added five insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Kachmar, the Bisons junior righty, allowed just three hits and struck out 10 Highlander batters to improve to 2-1 on the season.
CF Maddux finished 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run while DH Chris Bashlor went 2-for-4 with two RBI.  Six different Bison registered one hit in the win.
NJIT sophomore right-hander 
Tyler Stafflinger (3-2) took the loss, pitching 6.2 innings (six scoreless), letting up four hits and two runs while fanning six Bisons.

NJIT, which has played its first 21 games on the road, will play its first home game of the 2018 season, welcoming Rider on Wednesday at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, NJ.  First pitch is set for 3pm.
