LYNCHBURGH, VA – After day one of the ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships the men are currently in second place and the women sit in fifth.
For the men Kennesaw State is in first with 63 points, followed by the Highlanders with 28 points, Lipscomb 26 point, North Florida 24 points and USC Upstate 11 points.
Kennesaw State also has the lead on the women's side with 70 points, Jacksonville sits in second with 53 points, North Florida is next with 34, with Lipscomb (18), NJIT (6) and USC Upstate (5) rounding out the bottom three.
The Highlander men dominated the men's pole vault led by
Calvin Gould who won with a score of 4:31m and
Kyle Russell taking third with the same score.
Brandon Kong and
Brian Nagotko came in fourth and fifth respectively and
Issa Feknous came in seventh.
Billy Forrester earned two points for his team, placing fifth in men's shot put with a distance of 13.19m.
In the distance medley the women finished fifth, including
Allison Regan,
Kristina Boafo,
Chloe Jelley and
Kelly DiCristina coming in at 13:12.40, and the men with
Ryan Budhu,
Michael Girock, Matthew Dasilva and
Ben Miller placed fourth clocking in at 10:32.07.
Miku Okada just missed the podium tying for fourth in the high jump, 1.60m.
Esther Daramola placed sixth in the women's pentathlon earning 2388 points.
