NJIT will look for its first road victory of the 2018 season when the Highlanders visit LIU Brooklyn on Sunday at 2pm in Steinberg Wellness Center.
The Highlanders (1-8) look to snap a three-game skid, after falling to Vermont, 71-63, on December 2.

All-Time Series
NJIT leads the all-time series, 3-2, against LIU Brooklyn. The Blackbirds won the last meeting, 67-49, last season in Newark.
NJIT's last win against LIU Brooklyn came in the TD Bank Classic hosted by Vermont on November 26, 2016. Highlanders
Tracey Brereton broke a 45-45 tie on a layup with 1:01 left in the game and scored the final eight points for NJIT, as the Highlanders defeated LIU Brooklyn, 50-48, in the consolation game of the TD Bank Classic.
The Highlanders are 16-19 all-time against Northeast Conference opponents.
A Look at the Highlanders
The Highlanders are led by graduate student
Kelly Guarino's 13.6ppg followed by
Danielle Tunstall and
Ellyn Stoll, who are averaging 10.8ppg each.
Guarino ranks 10
th in scoring in the ASUN, tied for 18th in the nation in three-point field goals made (26). Her 26 three-pointers made rank second in the ASUN and third in three-point field goal percentage (42.6). She also ranks third in free throw percentage (86.7) and fifth in free throws (26-30).
The guard from Thiells, NY, is NJIT's Division I all-time leader with 206 three-pointers made and is 16 shy of the all-time record. Her total also rank 14th in ASUN history, just 14 shy of breaking into the top 10 in league history with 220 established by LaTorria Matthews of FAU between 1997 and 2001.
Tunstall, the Highlanders 5-foot-11 forward, sits atop the Highlanders with 7.1rpg, which ranks sixth in the ASUN. Tunstall ranks third in the league in total rebounds (64) and eighth in blocks (7).
Stoll, who is averaging 34.6 minutes per game, ranks first on the team in assists (23) and second in steals (10). Stoll has dished out at least one assist in eight of NJIT's nine games, including season-best five assists against Vermont.
A transfer from Memphis, Bajic averages 7.4ppg in her five starts this season compared to 5.0ppg when coming off the bench.
Scouting the Blackbirds
LIU Brooklyn, still in search for its first win in 2018, enters Sunday's contest with an 0-8 record.
The Blackbirds are coming off an 83-38 loss at Michigan on December 6. Brandy Johnson led LIU Brooklyn in scoring for the fourth time this season, finishing with nine points.
Thomas paces the Blackbirds in four categories -- scoring (14.3), rebounds (13.0), field goal percentage (39-95; 41.1) and free throw percentage (22-30; 73.3). Thomas, who ranks tied for first in the nation in double-doubles, has combined for a double-double in seven out of eight games for the Blackbirds.
LIU's Jeydah Johnson is the second leading scorer at 13.3ppg, which includes a team-best 13 three-point field goals.
NEC Preseason Poll
The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team was selected to finish seventh out of 10 teams by the league's head coaches.
The Blackbirds reached double-digit wins a year ago with a 13-18 mark and 8-10 record in NEC play. Last year, LIU reached the NEC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2010.
Next Up
NJIT will visit Colgate on December 14 at 6pm before hosting Kent State on December 21 (Staff Appreciation Day). Tip-off is slated at 2pm inside the Wellness and Events Center.
NJIT has not played Colgate since the 2012-13 season when the two squads split the season series. The Highlanders grabbed the late-game victory in the second meeting with a winning three-pointer from Martina Matejcikova with eight seconds left on the clock.
