(VESTAL, NY) -- In just its second meet of the season, Binghamton University placed first in 14 of 16 events to race past NJIT in the men's swimming and diving meet Saturday in Vestal, N.Y.

The Bearcats (2-0) had previously defeated Niagara University back on Oct. 20. Meanwhile, the Highlanders (3-4) will next compete in the ECAC Winter Championships from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 in East Meadow, N.Y.

NJIT did post a pair of first-place finishes on Saturday.

The Hillsborough, N.J., native placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:46.44 -- nearly two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Franco also sported second-place finishes in the 50 Yard Freestyle (21.97) and the 100 Yard Freestyle (47.75), as well as in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:30.12) with junior Tyler Pollock and sophomore Mattheau Bonner and Jake Haefner.

Bonner also scored a win in the 100 Yard Butterfly (52.67) out-touching Binghamton's Ross Bernstein (53.84) by more than a full second. Earlier, Bernstein (1:55.55) had eked out a victory over Bonner (1:56.09) in the 200 Yard Butterfly by just .14 of a second.

Junior Nicholas Lyons secured a pair of second-place finishes. In the 100 Yard Breaststroke (59.84), he touched less than one second after Binghamton's Ryan Board (59.10). He also came in right behind Board in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:14.20).

Freshman Justin Andersen also recorded a second-place finish by registering a time of 5:00.95 in the 500 Yard Freestyle.

Junior Cole Becker was NJIT's highest finisher in the dive events -- posting scores of 242.01 in the One Meter Dive and 224.92 in the Three Meter Dive, both good for fourth place.
