NJIT will continue its five game road trip on Sunday when the Highlanders visit No. 25 West Virginia at WVU Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 2pm.
NJIT is coming off a 77-57 loss at Howard behind a strong performance from graduate student
Kelly Guarino, who matched her career mark in points (24). Guarino shot 6-for-13 from the field, 5-for-10 from three-point range and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line in an impressive effort. Guarino last scored 24 points at North Florida on February 17, 2018.
The Highlanders opened the season on Tuesday at Saint Peter's, dropping a 70-57 decision, despite a career-night for junior
Danielle Tunstall, who combined for a double-double, pouring in 24 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
First-year head coach
Mike Lane comes to NJIT after spending six seasons at Bucknell University as the top assistant coach, where he helped guide the Bison to a program-best 27-6 mark, Patriot League title and conference championship while earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

Scouting the Mountaineers
West Virginia, ranked No. 25 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Preseason Poll (as of November 1), finished the 2017-18 season with 25 wins and advancing to the semifinal round of the WNIT against Virginia Tech.
The Mountaineers return four letterwinners from last season's team, including starters Naomi Davenport and Katrina Pardee and reserves Theresa Ekhelar and Nia Staples. In addition, guard Tynice Martin returns after sitting out in 2017-18 due to injury.
Davenport recorded West Virginia's first triple-double in more than 30 years and redshirt junior guard Tynice Martin had a 20-point performance, leading the No. 25 West Virginia University women's basketball team to a 78-37 victory over Coppin State in the season opener.
Davenport recorded 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to help the Mountaineers secure their 12th season-opening win in the last 13 years.
Martin led all scorers with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Katrina Pardee chipped in with 16 points.
The Mountaineers picked up an 88-53 exhibition win over West Liberty behind 18 points from senior guard/forward Naomi Davenport. Redshirt junior guard Tynice Martin made her return to the court after missing the 2017-18 season due to injury.
