The NJIT women's basketball team, on a three-game homestand, will return back to the Wellness and Events Center Monday night, hosting North Florida at 7pm in ASUN Conference action.
The Highlanders (2-17, 0-4 ASUN) are coming off an 88-58 loss at Jacksonville Saturday afternoon.
With a win on Monday, the Highlanders will snap a six-game losing streak, which dates back to a 73-57 victory over Long Beach State on December 28 in the NJIT Basketball Holiday Tournament.

All-Time Series
North Florida leads the all-time series, 3-1. In the last meeting, North Florida recorded a 61-51 victory on February 13, 2017. NJIT's lone win against North Florida, a 64-62 win, dates back to January 14, 2017.
Senior guard Alana Dudley hit the game-winning shot with :03 seconds, leading NJIT to a 64-62 victory.
In the fourth quarter, North Florida used a 13-6 run to push ahead 61-55 after a layup by Adrienne Jackson with 3:25 left to play in the game. NJIT fought back and sank four straight free throws by
Kelly Guarino and Leah Horton, pulling within two, 59-61.
North Florida's Hansen hit one-of-two from the free throw line, giving the visitors a three-point lead, 62-59, with 1:09 on the clock. Torres hit a mid-range jumper to close the gap within one, 61-62 with :59 left on the clock.
After a turnover by the Ospreys, NJIT head coach
Steve Lanpher called a timeout to setup a play. Out of the timeout, Dudley sank her second three-pointer of the game, giving the Highlanders a 64-62 advantage.
North Florida took a pair of 30-second timeouts to re-group but a three-pointer by Claire Ioannidis fell short.
Scouting the Ospreys (9-10, 2-2 ASUN)
North Florida erased a 12-point deficit as the Ospreys took down USC Upstate, 65-61, on Saturday afternoon. Senior Keonna Farmer led the team for the 11th time in scoring with 18 points. She has now scored in double-digits in 14 of the last 15 games. She also grabbed seven rebounds, had three assists and tied her season-high with four steals.
The Ospreys marked its first time in ASUN history that North Florida has won back-to-back games at the Hodge Center. The win also ties the 2015-16 team who owned a 2-2 record after four ASUN contests.
North Florida has two players averaging double-digits, paced by Farmer, who leads the team in scoring (15.5ppg), rebounding (8.1rpg) and steals (48). Farmer ranks third in the ASUN in scoring and fourth in rebounding.
Tesh Hanson is the Ospreys other double-figure scorer at 10.9ppg. Adrienne Jackson and Tiffany Tolbert are averaging 8.8pgg and 8.7ppg respectively for the Ospreys. Jackson paces the team with 25 three-pointers made while Tolbert and Arianna Emanuel-Wright has connected on 15 each.
North Florida has two wins in ASUN Conference action – Kennesaw State (77-72) and USC Upstate (65-61) while dropping a close decision against Lipscomb (73-69).

Redshirt junior
Tatianna Torres paced the Highlanders with 16 points and seven assists followed by
Kelly Guarino with 15 points (all from behind the arc).
Senior forward
Taj Lewis scored 10 points and freshman
Dez Allen came off the bench to score nine points. Lewis leads the ASUN in field goal percentage at 52.4 percent and tanks third on the team, averaging 9.3ppg.
Sophomore
Danielle Tunstall pulled down a team-best five rebounds followed by Torres (4) and Allen (3).
Torres leads the team averaging 11.3 ppg and total steals (38). She has recorded at least one steal in 18-out-of-19 games this season (high of 4 vs. Cornell) and ranks fourth in the ASUN at 1.9spg.
Guarino is averaging 9.8 ppg, through 10 games, including three starts. She ranks second on the team with 25 three-point field goals and matches a season-high five three-pointers against Jacksonville (5 vs. Long Beach State).
Sophomore forward
Danielle Tunstall tops the team on the boards, averaging 6.0rpg.
