NEWARK, NJ— The Major League Soccer (MLS) announced its initial 60-man roster list, which includes senior Mamadou Guirassy for the 2018 MLS Player Combine.

Guirassy will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete in the Annual Combine on January 11-17 to showcase his talents in front of representatives of all 23 MLS clubs.

The Highlander senior from Paris, France, is coming off his best season of his collegiate career as the senior won the NCAA Division I regular season golden boot crown with 16 goals in 2017.

That total, along with 34 total points marked new NJIT Division I era program records, while the 16 goals scored were the second-most in a single season by any ASUN player since 2006.

Guirassy, who totaled 10 goals in his previous three years with the Highlanders, also broke NJIT's career goal scoring mark with 26 after leading the Highlanders to back-to-back postseason appearances.

The ASUN Player of the Year scored a league-high five game-winning goals and tallying multiple goals in four different contests.

He has been on the radar of some individual MLS teams this fall, as Guirassy received invites to team combines from LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew and 2017 MLS Cup Champions Toronto FC.
