JACKSONVILLE, FL – NJIT women's soccer fell 1-0 in double overtime to North Florida on Monday afternoon on Sarah Wasser's free kick in the 103
rd minute in ASUN Conference action.
The match, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 1 was postponed due to unplayable field conditions at Hodges Stadium.
The Highlanders drop to 0-3 in ASUN, 6-6 overall, while the Osprey's notch their second conference win (8-3, 2-1 ASUN).
North Florida dominated the shot count, outshooting NJIT 20-6. Senior
Carly Berdan posted three of the Highlanders six shots.
North Florida's Wasser ended the game in the 103
rd minute off a free kick from 20 yards out of the left side of the goal. Wasser's shot was perfectly placed to the far back post escaping the reach of Highlander goal keeper
Karen David and securing the win for the Osprey's.
NJIT's David made a season-high 10 saves in her third start of the season while North Florida keeper Rhiannon Conelley made one save in her fifth shutout of the season.
NJIT will continue ASUN action hosting FGCU and Stetson this coming weekend, hosting the Eagles on Friday at 3pm and the Hatters on Sunday at 1pm.
