KENNESAW, GA – Kennesaw State's Isabella Contreras scored two comeback goals in NJIT women's soccer 2-1 loss to the Owls on Saturday afternoon.
Kennesaw State outshot the Highlanders 13-7 in the game, while also getting seven corner kicks.
The Highlanders (7-8-0, 1-5-0 ASUN) got their lone goal from
Katrina Nguyen-DeMary in the second minute of play. The freshman took the Owl keeper Mady Carter one on one, giving the Highlanders a 1-0 early on in the game.
Kennesaw State (7-6-3, 2-3-1 ASUN) received two goals from Contreras.
In the 46
th minute, Contreras received a ball inside the box from Erin Harris, and blasted it hitting the crossbar and into the net.
Sophomore Contreras recorded her second goal in the 79
th minute, giving the Owls the lead. Ida Hepsoe crossed the ball into the box finding Contreras who finished in front of the net.
Karen David posted four saves for the Highlanders, while Carter made two saves in Kennesaw State's win.
NJIT women's soccer takes a break from ASUN play, hosting Delaware State on October 18 for their senior day game that starts at 3pm.
