NJIT will welcome North Florida on Saturday at 1pm in the Highlanders ASUN Conference home opener at the Fleisher Athletic Center.
As part of a doubleheader, the Highlanders' men's program will host North Florida in the nightcap at 4 p.m. on ESPN3.

Starting in January, every NJIT game played in the ASUN Conference, home and away, throughout the regular season and into the ASUN postseason tournament will be covered on ESPN3.
ALL-TIME SERIES
NJIT looks for its first all-time win against North Florida. In the first meeting between the two teams last season in Newark, North Florida picked up a 68-51 victory on January 22 and recorded a 72-49 victory in Jacksonville a month later (February 22).
A LOOK AT NORTH FLORIDA
North Florida enters Saturday's contest with a 7-9 overall mark and 0-1 in the ASUN Conference. Most recently, the Ospreys dropped its ASUN opener on January 7 at Jacksonville, 68-58.
Senior
Claire Ioannidis scored 14 points in the second half to lead the team with 16 on four three-point field goals. Redshirt junior guard
Tesh Hanson netted 15 points while pulling down four rebounds while junior guard
Sierra Shepherd added 13 points.
The Ospreys opened the 2016-17 season, winners of its first three out of four contests, with wins over Florida A&M, Webber International and Florida Atlantic, in double overtime.
North Florida picked up two wins in the month of December and are in search for its first win in the New Year.
Ioannidis, a 5-foot-7 point guard, paces the Ospreys with 11.9 points per game, three-point field goals made (49) and free throw percentage (94.4 percent).
Hanson tops the team in rebounding at 7.3 rebounds per game, which ranks fourth in the ASUN. Her 49.7 field goal percentage (72-145) also ranks fourth in the league. Hanson is second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game.
The Ospreys third double-digit scorer is Shepherd at 10.0 points per game, while pacing the team in assists (59) and steals (28).
A LOOK AT NJIT
NJIT, which has dropped its last two contests, after winning three straight, enter Saturday's contest with a 7-9 overall mark and 0-1 in the conference. The Highlanders are coming off a 75-58 loss at USC Upstate, after a late 12-4 fourth quarter run by the Spartans.
Redshirt sophomore guard
Tatianna Torres scored her fifth straight double-digit game, leading the Highlanders with 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and six steals.
Torres, who is averaging 15.2 point per game in the last five games, ranks third on the team, averaging 9.2 point per game. Her 38 steals tops the team and the ASUN Conference (2.4spg).
The Highlanders are led by senior guard
Alana Dudley, who is averaging 11.5 point per game. Dudley has record 10 double-digit games, including two 20+ point performances. She has combined for at least one assist in 16 games this season, with a career-best and NJIT DI single game record 10 assists.
Center
Leah Horton is the Highlanders other double-figure scorer, averaging 10.5 points per game and second on the team with 5.6 rebounds per game.Â
Freshman forward
Danielle Tunstall paces the Highlanders on the boards at 6.6, which ranks fifth in the conference.
NEXT ACTION
NJIT will return to action on January 16 at 7pm, hosting defending ASUN Conference Champion Jacksonville. The Dolphins, which rank No. 55 in the latest RPI rating, sit atop the conference with at 12-4 and 1-0 in the ASUN.
The Dolphins will visit USC Upstate on Saturday before traveling to Newark for a 7 pm tip.
