MAHWAH, NJ – The NJIT men's track and field team placed third at the Seventh Annual Ramapo College Invitational on Saturday held at the Ramapo Athletic Center.
The men's team placed in third behind Cortland (146) and Ramapo (71) with 67 total points, while the women placed 14th.
In the 400-meter hurdles,
Alex Ortega placed first, finishing in 54.88, while
Dhruv Banerjee came in fourth, running in 55.64.
The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Ortega, Banerjee,
Pritinder Singh and
John Porteous finished first, running in 3:23.29.
Vishaldeep Singh placed first in the long jump with a distance of 6.93m, while
Mike Russell placed second in the 5000-meter run, finishing in 16:33.43.
In the triple jump,
Joe Skwiat placed third with a distance of 13.62m, while
Vishaldeep Singh placed fifth (13.36m) and
Jason Poppe came in sixth (13.33m).
Leading the women was
Karen David in the javelin throw with a distance of 35.64m and
Kayleigh Stark who placed fifth, posting a distance of 33.44m.
The Highlanders will travel next to Lawrenceville, NJ on April 9
th to compete in the Rider Invite.
