A Look at NJIT (2-1 overall; 2-0 at home)
The Highlanders are coming off a 67-36 victory at Bucknell, who is ranked 15th in the latest CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major rankings and selected preseason favorite in the Patriot League.

NJIT (2-1) was paced by senior guard Alana Dudley's 10 points.  Freshman Danielle Tunstall and redshirt-freshman Jillian Libby added six points apiece for the Highlanders.  Libby was the high-rebounder for NJIT, pulling down seven boards, one shy her personal-best eight rebounds against Wagner in the 2016 season opener.

Four of NJIT's five starters are averaging double-digits, paced by Dudley's 13.3 ppg followed by freshman Danielle Tunstall, who is averaging a double-double (12.3 ppg; 103. rpg).  Dudley has recorded at least one assist and one steal in the first three games.  Tunstall recorded back-to-back double-doubles in her first two collegiate games.

Senior forward Leah Horton is averaging 11.0 ppg and is shooting 56% (14-for-25) from the field while redshirt sophomore Tatianna Torres averages 10.3 ppg and leads the team in steals with 12.  Torres has notched a steal in each of the Highlanders first three contests.

Next Action
The Highlanders will make its first long road trip of the season, to Burlington, Vermont, for a two-day tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend.  NJIT will face host Vermont on November 25 at 7pm and take on either Wisconsin Milwaukee or LIU Brooklyn a day later, as part of the TD Bank Classic.

The game vs. Vermont will add meaning for head coach Steve Lanpher, who was formerly assistant coach and then associate head coach for Vermont. In his four years on the staff, the Catamounts were a combined 91-40 with one WNIT berth and two NCAA berths, including 2010, when they finished with 27 wins and advanced to the second round of the NCAAs.
