LAKE POINT, GA –
Phillip Costa collected his first career ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award for his performance through October 31.
Costa, a junior from Kenilworth, NJ, helped the NJIT men's soccer team post a 1-0-1 week in regular season play.
On October 26, Costa was a pivotal part of the NJIT defense holding league leader North Florida to a 1-1 draw, adding an assist on the game-tying goal.
In the Highlanders 4-1 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Costa provided the game-winning goal, finishing the week with three total points.
Costa and men's soccer is seeded fourth going into the ASUN Conference post-season and will take on #5 Jacksonville on Friday at 6pm, played at North Florida.
