NEWARK, NJ - On the second game in as many nights the Highlanders of NJIT were improved, but not by enough to overcome Monmouth as Eric Luetters was all over the ice notching two goals and one assist in their 6-3 win over NJIT.
Monmouth's offense rang up 50 shots on NJIT's net, with contributions not only from their forwards, but from the team's defensemen who showcased their scoring touch with three goals.
Monmouth's point leaders were Kyle Blazier, who had one goal and one assist and Steven Loreti, who racked up two goals and one assist. Monmouth also got a goal from Nicholas Tarquini, while Talon Ribsam tallied an assist and William Parsons, Liam Kealy, and Christopher Zariello, each chipped in two apiece.
NJIT was led by
Michael Crincoli, and
Matthew Lepinski, who each had one goal and one assist.
Michael Barrera also scored while
Yllano Tubilleja recorded one assist and
David Ferrero, had two.
Andrew Terracciano made 20 saves for Monmouth on 23 shots and
Andrew Irizarry recorded 44 saves for NJIT.
