Club Rugby Spring Season Comes to End

Club Rugby Spring Season Comes to End
NEWARK, NJ--With the spring season winding down and coming to a close, the NJIT men's club rugby team had their sights set on ending things on a high note in their one home game of the season.

The team to beat was the Rutgers men's Division I rugby team. With the Rutgers team putting 60 points on NJIT's rival, Montclair, this was going to be a very tough match.

Not letting themselves be psyched out by the odds, the Highlanders gave it their all, scoring within the first five minutes of the first half. The first try was scored by inside center, Trevor Panciello.

Unfortunately, Rutgers didn't give up any more points that easily. They didn't let up on the scrums either, putting up a tight fight against the NJIT forwards.

NJIT managed to put up a few more points, with a try scored by flanker Dylan Ramistella and a converted penalty kick by fly-half Fraser Croad.

Even though they put up a valiant effort, NJIT was unable to beat the Rutgers, finally conceding 26-17.

All in all, the club rugby team should be proud of its accomplishment of being able to hold back a Division I team and only losing by one try.
