ITHACA, NY—University of Nebraska, ranked No. 50 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top 75 college team rankings, swept the NJIT men's tennis team, 7-0, Saturday at Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University.
Nebraska earned the doubles points, sweeping first and second doubles by identical scores, 8-4, and earned a, 8-3 victory at third doubles.
The Huskers, who improve to 5-2 on the season, won all six singles contests in straight sets over NJIT. The Highlanders, who have lost the last three contests, fall to 6-4 on the season.
The closest match of the day came at first singles, which featured Nebraska's Dusty Boyer and NJIT's
Markus Schultz. Schultz, who came into Saturday's contest with an 8-0 dual match record at first singles, dropped his first match of the season, 3-6, 6-7(10).
NJIT will return to action on Sunday at 7:30 pm when the Highlanders visit Hofstra.
