VESTAL, N.Y. – The NJIT men's tennis team takes down Binghamton, 5-2, on the road to extend their winning streak to five matches.
The Highlanders opened the match by securing the doubles point to take an early 1–0 advantage before carrying that momentum into singles play.
The Highlanders picked up four singles victories across the middle of the lineup to clinch the team win. Nejc Skorjanc earned a straight-sets victory at No. 2 singles (6–3, 6–2), while Riccardo Campagnola battled to a three-set win at No. 3 (6–4, 3–6, 6–3). Yerassyl Bakhtiyar followed with a strong performance at No. 4 (6–3, 6–4), and Maxime Hankins sealed another key point at No. 5 singles with a 7–6, 6–2 decision.
The Bearcats claimed points at the top and bottom of the singles lineup, but the Highlanders' consistency through the middle courts proved decisive in securing the 5–2 result.
The road victory marks the Highlanders' fifth consecutive win, continuing an impressive stretch that began after an earlier loss to Drexel. During the streak, the Highlanders have earned wins over Bucknell, Monmouth, Bryant, and now Binghamton.
