NEWARK, N.J. – The NJIT men's tennis team takes down Quinnipiac, 5-2, on Senior Day to extend their winning streak to six matches.
The Highlanders opened the match by securing the doubles point to take an early 1–0 advantage before carrying that momentum into singles play.
The Highlanders picked up four singles victories across the middle of the lineup to clinch the team win. Wil Jenkins delivered a resilient three-set victory at the top spot, bouncing back after dropping the second set to earn a 6–0, 6–7, 6–3 win. Nejc Skorjanc followed with a dominant straight-sets performance at No. 3 singles (6–1, 6–0), while Riccardo Campagnola added another point with a steady 6–4, 6–4 victory at No. 4. Maxime Hankins capped the Highlanders' singles success with a strong showing at No. 5, winning 6–2, 7–6.
The Bobcats claimed points at the second and sixth position of the singles lineup, but the Highlanders' consistency through the middle courts proved decisive in securing the 5–2 result.
The victory marks the Highlanders' sixth consecutive win, continuing an impressive stretch that began after an earlier loss to Drexel. During the streak, the Highlanders have earned wins over Bucknell, Monmouth, Bryant, Binghamton, and now Quinnipiac.
