The Highlanders, who have won three out of the last four games, will host first-time opponent Binghamton from the America East Conference on Saturday at 12 Noon in the Fleisher Athletic Center.
NJIT (4-4) started off its stretch of wins at home against St. Francis Brooklyn on November 25, with a 57-50 overtime victory and followed up with a 65-57 win in the opening round of the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving Tournament defeating host FAU, advancing to the title game. The lone loss came at the hands of North Dakota State, 60-48, in the championship game of the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament on November 29.

Leah Horton's 15 points, 12 in the first half, to go along with eight rebounds.
Senior point guard
Alyssa Albanese paces the Highlanders in three categories – scoring (11.4ppg), 38 assists and 11 3-point field goals made. Albanese raises her career assist mark to 272, three shy the NJIT Division I career record (275), held by Ivana Seric (class of 2011).
Sophomore forward
Leah Horton, who has scored in double-figures in five out of eight games this season, is the Highlanders second leading scorer with 11.1ppg and tops the team with 67 rebounds (8.4rpg).
Center
Nicole Maticka, the Highlanders 6-foot-3 senior, has recorded at least two blocks in five out of eight contests, with a season-high 4 blocks against Lehigh (11/21) and Wagner (12/2), raising her career block total to 179, the current NJIT Division I record also held by
Uju Nwankwo (class of 2014). Maticka is averaging (7.5ppg) and (5.6rpg) for the Highlanders in her final season.
Binghamton NotesBinghamton, a 5-25 team last season, is under the direction of first-year head coach Linda Cimino, who arrives at Binghamton from Caldwell College, where she led the Division II Cougars to a 90-52 mark the past four years.
The Bearcats, who graduated four starters from last season, have been selected to finish ninth in the 2014-15 America East preseason coaches' poll. Senior forward Sherae Swinson, is the lone returning starter for the Bearcats, after leading the squad in scoring (10.1ppg) and rebounding (5.0rpg).
Binghamton enters Saturday's game on a four-game skid and 1-5 overall. The only win of the 2014-15 campaign came against Delaware State (90-84) on November 15 at the Akron Tournament.
The Bearcats have four players averaging double-figure scoring led by freshman guard Imani Watkins (15.0ppg). Freshman Jasmine Sina, reigning America East Rookie of the Week, tops the team in three-point field goals made (21) while averaging 14.2ppg.
Swinson and junior guard Kim Albrecht are averaging between 11.8ppg and 11.3ppg respectively for the Bearcats. Swinson leads the team with 38 rebounds (7.6rpg) and 9 blocks.
