NEWARK, NJ—The NJIT men's tennis team swept visiting Saint Peter's, 7-0, Sunday at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
 
NJIT, which stands at 3-0 on the young season, earned the doubles point winning all three contests and won six singles matches for the 7-0 victory.
 
Highlanders Erik Artursson and Andres Alban swept Saint Peter's Marko Knezevic and Mario Huljev at first doubles, 8-0.  Alban and Artursson won by identical scores, Alban at third singles recording a 6-1, 6-1 victory past Hukjev and Artursson at the fourth spot, 6-2, 6-2 over Tom Jottrand.
 
Senior Holger Norregaard and sophomore Markus Schultz recorded an 8-6 victory at second doubles defeating Carlos Carrera and Jottrand.  Schultz won by identical scores at first singles, 6-1, 6-1 topping Carrera while Norregaard battled out a three-set tilt with Knezevic at the second spot.  Norregaard came out on top with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 victory.
 
NJIT doubles pair Arnaud Holl and Carl Jedlinski earned a 8-7(4) victory at third doubles over Oliver Bellomi and Luke Whaley.  Holl won at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-3 while Jedlinski followed up with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the six spot.
 
NJIT will return to action on Friday at 6pm when the Highlanders host Fairfield in The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
