OLEAN, NY—The NJIT men's tennis team improved to 9-2 on the season with a convincing 6-1 men's tennis victory at St. Bonaventure Saturday evening at the SBU Fitness Center.
 
NJIT (9-2) took two out of three doubles contests to earn the point while taking five of six singles contest to earn the victory Saturday while St. Bonaventure dropped its fifth straight match falling to 2-6 on the season.
 
Highlanders' duo Holger Norregaard and Markus Schultz competing at second doubles and NJIT's Andres Alban and Fraser Croad, competing at third doubles won by identical scores, 8-5. 
 
Freshman Schultz won in straight sets at first singles, 7-5, 6-4 over Elliot Fanshel and Alban followed with a win by identical scores at third singles, 6-4, 6-4 over Luis Guevara.
 
Erik Artursson dropped his first set at fourth singles, 7-6(4) but bounced back in the next two frames for the victory, 6-1, 6-3.
 
Petr Rousar won 7-5, 6-1 at the fifth spot over Trevor Haskell while Croad added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at sixth singles cruising past Gabriel Cardenas.
 
NJIT will return to action on Sunday at Buffalo.  The match is scheduled to start at 1pm.
