HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC—The NJIT men's tennis team kicked off its Spring Break Tournament trip on Tuesday blanking Nebraska at Omaha , 7-0, at the Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort.
NJIT (11-3) won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point and swept all six singles matches in straight sets for the 7-0 victory.
Doubles partners
Petr Rousar and
Erik Artursson were 8-2 winners at first doubles. Rousar won by identical scores 6-4, 6-4 (8) at third singles while Artursson was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at the fifth spot.
NJIT's
Holger Norregaard and
Markus Schultz won 8-1 at second doubles. Schultz won at first singles 6-4, 6-2 while Norregaard followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the second spot.
At third doubles,
Jack Felich and
Andres Alban won 8-4. Alban won by identical scores at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0 while
Fraser Croad, competing at the sixth spot, also won by identical scores, 6-1, 6-1.
The Highlanders will return to action on Wednesday at South Carolina State.
