EASTON, PA—The NJIT men's tennis team won its sixth straight match improving to 6-0 on the season sweeping Lafayette Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders took all six singles contests in straight sets and won the three doubles contests.
Doubles duo
Petr Rousar and
Erik Artursson were 8-3 winners at first doubles over Brandon Goldstein and Jake Lazer. Rousar won at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-2 over Chris matturri while Artursson followed up with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the fifth spot cruising past Gavin Stunder.
Highlanders' pair
Holger Norregaard and
Andres Alban swept Will Mercorella and Scott Gelbman at second doubles, 8-0. Norregaard was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at first singles over Goldstein while Alban won by identical scores, 6-1, 6-1 at the third spot over Gelbman.
Newcomer
Markus Schultz and senior
Fraser Croad did not finish the contest at third doubles, but led 7-2 when the match ended. Schultz won by identical scores, 6-1, 6-1 at second singles over Mercorella while Croad won 6-3, 6-1 at sixth singles over Alex Charchalis.
The NJIT men will break from play for a week and return to action on Saturday at 4pm when the Highlanders host James Madison at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
